The briefing matters more than the itinerary

We don't hand you a printed schedule and walk off. Every trip starts with an actual conversation — what the ground will feel like underfoot, where the hard stretches sit in the day, what the weather's likely to do that week and what we'll do if it doesn't cooperate.

We'd rather you know too much before day one than be surprised on day two. Surprises on the ground cost more than five extra minutes of conversation at the start.

Honesty about fitness beats confidence about experience

We ask you to be honest about your pace, not impressive about your resume. Someone who paces themselves through day one almost always does better than someone who sprints the first hour and struggles by noon. That's the only thing we're really trying to learn in the briefing — not what you've done before, but how you'll actually move.

What happens if something doesn't go to plan

Part of the briefing is talking through what we do if someone needs to turn back, if weather forces a reroute, or if the pace needs to shift for the group to stay together. We'd rather you hear that plan calmly before it's needed than have to explain it under pressure. Most groups never need it — but everyone leaves the briefing knowing what happens if they do

FAQ

Your questions, answered

What to know about building in Mexico, working with Conecta, and planning your investment.

How is Conecta different from a consultant or recruiter?

We are Operators, not just a setup service. Our Operating Partners have built multiple engineering nearshoring companies in Mexico over the past 4 decades. For the past 12 years, our founder built, ran, and sold a company to a U.S. private equity firm. Our bilingual, bicultural team brings that experience to your operation through the ...

Why build an engineering team in Guadalajara?

Guadalajara combines engineering talent, an established technology ecosystem, and working-hour overlap with U.S. teams. Companies including Intel, Oracle, SAP, IBM, and HP have a presence here. Flight connections to major U.S. cities also make it practical to collaborate in person, not just remotely.

What cost savings should we plan for?

Our planning example compares $150,000 per engineer annually in the U.S. with $55,000 in Guadalajara. For 10 engineers, that is a $950,000 annual difference before additional operating costs. These are planning assumptions, not guaranteed savings; your budget will depend on roles, seniority, hiring needs, and how you structure the operation.

How does the subscription work, and what does it cost?

The Conecta Subscription is active from Day 1 and provides fractional access to our Operating Partners, with ongoing guidance through the Method. Projects are packaged as stage bundles. Contact us to confirm pricing, scope and engagement terms for your business.

Can you help beyond hiring and company setup?

Yes. Projects are packaged as stage bundles spanning legal incorporation, talent, payroll, compliance, workspace support and M&A advisory. Support also includes training and leadership development under OPERATE, and entering the Mexican market under SCALE. The Conecta Subscription provides ongoing access to experienced Operating Partners and trusted local relationships.

What does Conecta Advisors delivers to its clients?

Conecta Advisors helps U.S. technology companies and their private equity partners build, operate and scale their own engineering operations in Mexico. The Conecta Method™ connects five stages: DECIDE, ESTABLISH, BUILD, OPERATE and SCALE. These cover the business case, a compliant legal entity, an integrated team, operational oversight and independent local leadership. The Conecta Subscription provides fractional access to experienced Operating Partners from Day 1, accountable for making the operation work. Projects are packaged as stage bundles, with support that continues beyond setup and hiring.
